The Avarosan tribes led by Ashe were able to form alliances with the rich sourthen tribes though promises of conquest, one of the earliest of those promises led to an attack at Dawnhold that was held back by Varya of the Dauntless Vanguard , her twin brother also from the Vanguard, Rodian would answer the attack setting the Avarosan capital, Frostheld , ablaze.

Meanwhile, the Winter's Claw led by Sejuani are united by warlike tradition and constantly raid the borderlands for survival.
